Arts 'N' Parts Recap

First Annual Arts 'N' Parts @ the Church was September 24th. We had a great turnout of bikes, vendors and people. We will definitely be holding another one next year, with the possibility of it being a bi-annual event (spring/fall) as a kick-off/wind down to the riding season. Mark Your Calendars!

We've been cooking up a fall event, and finally have the flyer and details locked down. Mark your calendars for Saturday September 24th. We will be hosting the 1st annual Parts 'N' Arts show @ the Hammansburg Blues & Arts Center (redbone's Church) near Cygnet, OH. Doors will open at 10 am, vendors can get there earlier to setup. Vendor spots are only $20, but call to reserve them now, as they will likely go fast! This is a real parts swap meet only, NO LEATHER, NO LIFESTYLE bullshit, no candy, etc... Just real, crusty, greazy parts. The way a swap should be. Swap will take place outside, so dress/plan accordingly. Swap meet will run until people close up shop. We will have live music in the church that evening until midnight. Camping will be available on site, free of charge, so plan to stay and party! We will also be holding an art show inside the church. We prefer the art to be moto-related (bikes, hot rods, tiki, lowbrow, etc...) If you are interested in having work in the show, please give us a call!!! Art show space will also be somewhat limited, so please get your submission in early. Please send a short bio, and some photos/description of your work to overdriveplus@hotmail.com Finally there will be a Ride-In Bike show, open to anyone on two wheels (or 3 in some cases, but NO can-am spyders please!) There will be a couple awards given out. Parking will be a premium for this event, so if you have a bike, please ride out, it will be much easier for us to deal with a bunch of bikes than a bunch of cars... OH! there will also be Live entertainment throughout the day from several different bands. Full lineup to be announced soon! more information/show submissions: overdriveplus@hotmail.com 419.308.8397

Mama Tried (part III)

Last segment from the Mama Tried Show. Sunday was supposed to feature ice racing, but with the unseasonably warm temps in Milwaukee, ice was a scarce commodity. The racing was 'cancelled' but I got word from Josh & Nick that they were gonna go somewhere and have fun with the bikes, ice or not. So we followed the procession of vans/trucks/trailers to some shipyard for some fun. Just as everyone started to get unloaded and ready, they started packing up again. Apparently someone had found some ice south of the city! So we followed them to Lily Lake, where there was a nice chunk of ice and a bar waiting for us! Tires were changed, wrenches were turned and soon the guys were making slushies with their studded tires. Nick even let me take his flathead for a rip later in the afternoon. What a great time!
